Debra Ann 2008 Welcome to Mid Century Modern Art
If you are like me, you love anything modern. You love the classic lines, the superior design, and the progressive thought behind modernism. If you are like me, your heart jumps when the new issues of Atomic Ranch, Dwell, and Modernism magazines arrive in your mailbox. You read through each issue, devouring every word with joy. You study the designers, the photographers, the art glass, the theories, you notice what is behind each idea and contemplate these things. I'm glad you are here!

The Concept
I created this site, Mid Century Modern Art (or MiCeMo Art as I like to call it) because, as an artist, I recognized the need for a new line of modern art, inspired by the Mid Century Modern style, that took the best elements and ran with them. I had been creating unique abstract art for many years and decided to offer them to the public.

The Work Behind It
I've assembled a dedicated knowledgeable team who love modern art as much as I do and we work very hard to bring you the finest high quality giclee reproductions of that art. Each piece is personally inspected and signed/numbered by me. You are assured only the finest modern art for your home.

Debra Ann My Background
Originally from Northern Indiana I moved to California on New Years Day 1990 and on that cold Indiana day the wind chill factor was 50 below zero (not a typo - FIFTY below zero). I lived in San Francisco for 8 years in the infamous Haight Ashbury district and in the Mission. I wouldn't trade the experience of living in that beautiful world-class city for anything in the world. Believe me, you haven't truly lived until you've gotten your tongue pierced - give it a try it doesn't hurt at all! In 1998 I moved to Marin County just north of SF across the Golden Gate Bridge to a lovely home. In May 2006 I sold my home in Marin (don't you just love it when a home doubles in value in just 8 short years?). In May 2006 I moved to Arizona and am enjoying the beautiful desert weather (except in the winter it's too cold!!) and my beautiful mid century modern art house which includes a separate 1700 sq ft artist studio. I also love and spend as much time as I can in Los Angeles, or more specifically West Hollywood, Hollywood and Santa Monica.

Influences:
mid century modern, modern art, Ray and Charles Eames, retro mod, minimalism, Eichlers, Rummers, modernism, abstract art, Palm Springs, art mobiles, kinetic art, the giclee print process, contemporary design, graphic design, ipods, Apple, Macintosh computers, underground music, the infinite power of the subconscious mind, self-hypnosis, dreams, industrial music, Dada, Tristan Tzara, Hans Arp (Jean Arp), Man Ray, Duchamp, Calder, Warhol, Amelia Earhart, Paris, black and white photography, microscopic images, anything and anybody unusual, strange, weird, and extremely creative.
